DESCRIPTION
A FORMAL Business plan has many parts:
  • Company Description
  • Examination of the Market and Competition (links to comparable online businesses)
  • Strategies and Goals (how will YOUR business be different?)
  • A List of Products or Services
  • A description of proposed Management and Organization (who will be in charge? How many employees will you need?)
  • Financial Requirements (Roughly how much money will you need to start up operations, and where could you get the startup capital) This is subject to change, depending on how the numbers add up in your BUDGET to be submitted later.

NEXT STEPS
You need to prepare a Word Processed PLAN describing your startup business
  • Research "Business Proposal" or "Business Plan" formats to see how your document might look.
  • You should find at least THREE comparable businesses on the internet that you can use as references for products and services
  • Your proposal doesn't have to be more than one or two pages long
  • Format the document PROFESSIONALLY
    • Use Headings, Alignment, Bullets and Hanging Indents to organize information in an attractive way. (Typically, there is a HEADING for each of the sections listed above, and content neatly arranged in bulleted sentences below it)
    • Ensure there are NO typographical errors
    • Date your document, and be sure your name appears clearly on it.

EVALUATION (10 marks)
  • Content (5 Marks)
    • Completeness of your proposal
      • Inclusion of all required information listed in the description
    • Viability of the proposal
      • Is the proposal realistic and are it's ideas attainable given your skill set and competencies?
  • Format (5 Marks)
    • Neatness and Aesthetic appeal of the document
      • Use of appropriate formatting styles, bullets, alignment, spacing
      • Logical organization of information
    • Integrity of spelling and grammar within the document
